Company Overview

Barber Construction has been in business since 1999. The company’s core values have been and remain honesty, integrity and hard work. The company’s primary areas of business have been multi-family, retail and residential development and construction. Barber Investment Properties was started in 2004 to manage Barber’s growing portfolio of rental property and developments. Barber Commercial was formed in 2006 to manage the growth of Barber’s commercial construction and development division. Collectively the companies have been branded as BCI.

Barber’s staff is experienced in Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Texas, East Texas, West Texas, Coastal Texas, The Texas Panhandle, numerous East Coast Markets, California, and Arkansas. BCI. is open to any geographical location in which a project that fits us is located. Our resources of subcontractors, vendors, lenders, and brokers are located throughout the United States. Utilizing all of our resourcCI. strives to go above and beyond to achieve the best possible pricing, quality, and timeliness to meet the needs of all of our clients, while building lasting relationships with all involved.

BCI. utilizes standard commercial construction practices, techniques, and communication procedures throughout the construction process, and prides itself on professionalism second to none. The knowledge, honesty and straight forwardness BCI brings to the table is key to all of our client’s and project’s success.

Principal Management Team

Matt Barber - Owner/President Matt has had much success in his business ventures. Utilizing his Business Management degree and experiences, his business plan, business management skills, honesty and hands on approach help shape the culture BCI operates with. Matt’s continued relationships with vendors, trades, banks and clients is an integral part of BCI’s everyday operation. Matt is dedicated to slow steady growth of BCI, and to achieving the satisfaction of every client through professionalism, honesty, and mutual respect.

Jesse Spivey - Vice President/Operations, Project Manager – Jesse, an Atlanta, Texas native, holds his degree from Texas A&M. Jesse started in construction as a commercial tenant finish contractor in 1995. After graduating college Jesse began his professional construction career building condos and town homes in uptown Dallas. Jesse moved on to custom homes, high-production home building, multi-family construction, and commercial project management working with the nation’s two largest builders, and notable GCs in the Texas market. Jesse has been involved in, and completed numerous multi million dollar projects in South/Coastal Texas, Austin Texas, Northeast Texas, and West Texas.

Michael Gionta - Superintendent Michael went to school in Plano, TX and on to college at the University of North Texas. Michael spent 10 years in the DFW residential market working for two of the nation’s largest builders realizing much success and has been involved in Multi-family Urban development for the past three years. He has overseen over $500 million in construction in Texas and was involved in projects such as “The Shops At Legacy” in Plano, “Colonial Park” in Fort Worth, and “The Domain” in Austin. Michael currently heads the “Anson Park Seniors” project in Abilene, TX.

Tim Newberry - A seasoned construction man, Tim has built throughout Texas and the nation in multi-family , commercial, and hospitality construction. Tim is a strong asset to BCI and currently heads up “The Villages of Snyder” project in Snyder, TX.

Troy Brentise - Troy brings 12 years of solid experience to BCI. His knowledge, can-do attitude and experience is an extreme asset to BCI. Troy is currently heading up “Hampton Village” in Pampa, TX.
